On a small farm in the middle of the Swedish, Lapland forests, Malin and Lars live a real dog life with great passion together with their approx. 40 Alaskan Huskies.
They compete over long distances and aim to participate successfully in the longest and toughest sled dog races in Europe such as Femundlöpet and Finnmarkslöpet. Their dream and one of their big goals is to be able to complete the world’s longest sled dog race with their own dogs, the 1,800 km long Iditarod in Alaska.
In 2017 and 2019, Malin and the dogs became Swedish long-distance champions and also won the prestigious award for “Best Dog Care”. In 2020 she came in 5th place in the Finnmarkslöpet 600 and was awarded for “Best Rookie” and “Best foreign driver”.
In 2019, Lars won a silver medal in the Swedish Long Distance Championships and was defeated by Malin by just half an hour. Lars has also successfully completed the Femundlöpet (open class) several times.
“The dogs are our family members and best friends. Their well-being is a high priority for us and it always comes before all sporting performance. As the first Swedish long-distance team, we are very proud to be part of Team Appetitt and to be able to offer our athletes a high-quality dog food that is adapted to their special needs.”
